Filming should be done horizontally, like sleeping...
(from the ghost days when I only saw the inside of a Van Nuys sound-stage and a hotel room while producing a Freeform show)
Information:
Are you interested in acting, working in the crew, or searching for cast and crew for your mid-form show?
Some of you have expressed interest in contributing to a mid-form show or are in need of cast and crew for your projects. To facilitate connections within the Kold Open network, I've created a resource for everyone.
Rather than going through the hassle of reaching out to friends or friends of friends, use this Google doc to share your details. We will compile this information as a shared resource for all Kold Open creators.
Even if you're not actively working on a project right now, having a filmmaking community to collaborate with is 80% of the work. So, take a moment to submit your information!
Ask:
A prominent US studio, focusing on TV series with female POC and underrepresented populations, is seeking mid-form shows to develop into full-length series.
If you have a show you've created or know someone who does, send it to development@koldopen.com. They are particularly interested in the following genres within the overarching diversity theme:
- Espionage
- Murder mystery
- Heist shows
- Long-con shows based on inflation and resource issues
- Drama-workplace comedy (something Barry-esque)
Advice:
Stick to shooting in horizontal mode
According to The Information, Apple is introducing a new button on the iPhone to simplify capturing moments horizontally. This aligns with the current trend in creator demand and consumer consumption, emphasizing the importance of horizontal content! Don’t be swayed by TikTok’s vertical allure.
